Tu Ressembles a Comment Tu Parles

Here is what I wore on a particular rainy day where one of my best friends in the whole wide world and I switched from one Makati mall to another and then back to where we started again just to satiate our compulsive shopping desires. While she looks clean and polished in her midi skirt and black flats, I look a little too casual. Haha!

I love rainy season more than the dry season. For some reason, rain has the power to romanticize almost anything and everything. I am either a wallflower or an overbearing contender.

I'm trying out my all-too flashy teeth smile. I'm still feeling my way through my now braces-less teeth.

"You resemble how you talk". Talk confidently and no one will know how jittery and unsure you really are. Talk as if you believe in everything you say and you'll trick not only your audience but also and more importantly, your own self.

I patiently waited for three straight nights the TV debut of History channel's World Wars series. It's a 3-episode documentary which was divided into 6 parts. The moment I saw its marketing tag line "World War 1: The world changed them. World War 2: They changed the world.", I knew it would be exceptionally interesting. And I was proven right. You know what the similarity is among the war leaders Mussolini, Hitler, Churchill, Stalin, and Tojo? It's that, they speak effectively. (Of course I'm discounting their personal weaknesses and faults which became their identifiers later on. I intentionally didn't include Roosevelt as I think his involvement was more of a retaliation to a provocation.) They started with an ideology that they believed in then imparted it with those who were seeking for something that can unify their nation, and finally acted upon what they thought was the truth.

See, there's an error in cultivating a thought. Because normally it's on a personal basis, there's nothing that can convince us that we have an erring  philosophy. Only when we've lived through to see the aftermath do we get to stare at our faulty reasoning.

I found the sentence I used in my title in HERE

Little Darling, the Smiles Returning to the Faces

King sun has finally decided that it's time to come out from hibernation! Thanks for drying up the flood in some of the areas in my country, you great ball of fire you. Although not everything has been restored to how they're used to be or even just recovered a little, at least it's better than the bad situation we're all in for almost two weeks. How about some Beatles song for extra good vibes? Cue Here Comes The Sun (doo doo doo doo)

Rain Cannot Stop Rayne

Have you seen the Ice Age 4 yet? If not, then I suggest you do. Don't forget to bring a kid with you, just so it won't be too awkward when the sales personnel asked you if you're going to watch the movie on your own ;)

It was raining real hard that day. But no amount of rain can stop me from going to the mall if it's my cousin Rayne who asked for that trip. Besides, I wanted to wear this cardigan, cause this was the same cover up I used when I badly wanted to see certain movies. Days ago, our cable channel aired the movie version of my favorite trilogy of all time, back to back to back - The Lord of The Rings. The Fellowship of the Ring started at 3pm and the Return of the King finished by 12 midnight. I was in front of the TV for 9 hours! Finally, I saw my beloved Legolas again. (Remember this?)

That same day too, while I was waiting for my dad to finish his trip in the hardware, I found comfort in Starbucks. They have this promo that if you fill out a survey posted on their website, they'll give you any beverage of your choice for free. I was lucky enough to be chosen. Nothing really compares with the feeling of sipping hot chocolate in a cold rainy day.

Rain Boots

Last friday, my day went something like this:
12 noon: I woke up and readied for school. It was raining, as if my prayers the night before were answered.
3pm: I arrived in school for my 2:40 class. I was late, as usual. But because I was late, there was already someone sitting on where I'm usually seated. (I was able to talk to my long time crush though! It turned out, he knew me all along too. Kilig kilig :>)
4:30pm: I was trying to fill out my Starbucks sticker card.
6pm: I did the grocery with my dad, Tito Ian, and Lola Ester for my first cousins who are to arrive from the US.
7:30pm: I had dinner.

Rain, You Make Me Feel Warm

When it rains, I actually feel better. The only thing that I don't like about it is when it gets too fierce. I'm selfish in most ways but in times like this, I wish everyone is safe.

I was in school around 9 30AM last tuesday. Around 11 20, classes were suspended. Taft was flooded already and a lot of the students flocked in front of the gates. I was fetched from school at 1pm. Traffic was insane! Here's wishing that my school would announce suspension of classes ahead of time to prevent students from getting stranded or just for the teachers to skip checking the attendance whenever it rains so hard.

Granny Gellie

I'm kind of liking the weather in Manila nowadays - cold. Perfect for my favorite pastime, reading while drinking a cup of hot chocolate.

As for last saturday, since it was raining almost the entire day, I stayed at home and did nothing. I was just at home, watched TV, ate, played tag, finished reading Harry Potter book 5, ate some more, tried to learn how to ride a bike again, and then ate some more. Good lazy day, wasn't it?

His Last Day

My past entries revolved around the unexpected death of my great grandfather. What other way to end these entries but to post how his wake ended as well. We were all asked to wear white tops, polos particularly. I didn't have any intention to dress up or go against the dress code so I picked the first white polo I laid my hands on. Had I a choice, I would have opted to wear a white dress. I won't story what happened in the last mass offered to him nor will I tell all the teary details of his internment. I think that's too personal ;)

There were 47 priests who celebrated the Last Mass, including the Bishop
It was raining that day (Sept 29). It felt like we were in a movie scene, all raining and crying :))
Without this bib necklace, I would have looked plainer than I did in my white polo and pants

When you're with the best persons, you won't know what is right from wrong anymore

the weather was so bipolar! One minute it would rain then the other, the sun would shine.

There are times where our professors would give us projects which are seemingly intended just for us to get grades in an easy way. This project is an example.
