Don't Take It Too Casually

I was scheduled for my ehem graduation photo shoot ehem last thursday, hours before my actual class and I was too giddy to have my picture taken. Too giddy in fact that for the nth time, I was late for the shoot! Harhar. I've already convinced myself to prepare all the necessary clothes that I'll be needing ahead of time but the last-minute aficionado that I am, I got distracted with another thing. That is, writing an email full of words that describe how amazed, gobsmacked, flabbergasted, and simply blown away (these adjectives were exactly what I used) I am after reading three novels in a row, all authored by Jodi Picoult. Trust me to be the girl who'll find a way to express her sign of approval to someone who has made an incredibly well-executed job. I'm so geeky in that way. I wanted others to know that their works are well received by silly old me. After typing down a lengthy fanmail, I closed my email and  started to panic. I only had an hour to take a bath, stuff things down in my bag, dress up for school, and try to remember as many rules as possible the photoshoot is reqiring. Cutting the chase, I was late. And yes, I was able to charm my way into the make up artists and everyone who was there. And double yes, they still attended to my whims. This, my friends, is the Gellie-trade mark. Setting aside my "student deficiency", let me show you what I wore for the casual wear:

This is another first! I held my chin up, smoothed my dress, and walked along the halls of my school wearing make up as heavy as this. I've never worn make up in school, save of course for those instances which required me, so I consider this a very bold move.

Brown Wednesday

I'm currently finishing Jodi Picoult's House Rules and one of the many points from the novel that stays with me is the idea of associating a certain day to a color. Like Green is for Mondays, Yellow is for Tuesdays, Brown is for Wednesdays, Red is for Thursdays, and Black is for Fridays. I thought of this early Wednesday morning so as I was preparing for school, I gravitated towards the brown palette and just worked with it. May I also add that another thing that got me so worked up that day was the idea of enrolling in my last PE class for my entire life as a student. I should have taken it two years ago had I followed the curriculum and had I won the battle against laziness but as the mother of all unluckiness and laziness, I conveniently forgot about it. Oh well at least I remembered it before it caused me further headaches when I finally graduate.

Spoon Feeding

The funniest thing happened to me in school. I walked into my Income Taxation class and came face to face with only three persons - my two girl classmates whom after that night I became a little close with and our professor. It was so funny that I had to ask the prof, "Attorney, is it going to be just the four of us tonight?" "Well, Ms. Peralta, that depends on whether you'll actively participate that we wouldn't really feel we're just four". It was weird to enter into a law class without the usual big number of students. But then looking at it on the bright side, at least my prof instantly knows me. You know how difficult it is to make a lasting impression on a professor whom you'd meet only for four months. Dang! This means I cannot anymore dillydally as it would be too noticeable when I come to class late. Well, we'll see what happens from here.

My 7th term, which included the Selling Project for Marksam, has concluded a few weeks ago. And in line with this, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me through it. I didn't only reach the required amount, I even surpassed it! First top, of course there's my mom who, I realized, purchased about 3/4 of my total sales. Then there are my Tito Ian, Tita Odette, Lala Ester, Tita Aida, Tito Rolly, and my friends from High School. Thank you!!! :)

When No Means Yes

So my 8th term in college has begun. Here's to another term infused with mediocre outputs and half-baked enthusiasm, all pieced together with ho-hum objectives. Somehow my pep talks do not work so a little reverse psychology might work. After all, my mind sometimes move backward.

Next Best Place

I noticed something. I kind of have plenty of outfit shots taken in our garage, like THIS, THIS, THIS, and THIS. I guess you could say cars serve as a pretty background as well. Either that, or I'm just really too lazy to find a more suitable place to take my outfit of the day. I guess the garage is proving to be better than my default background also known as my room with brown wall-papered cabinets.

Hand Me Down

My dad and I went out early in the morning to get some breakfast since it was just him and me who didn't have things to do for that day. On to what I wore. I picked up the top my mom used to wear when she was in her teens and matched it with the skirt my Lala Ester wore years and years ago. They aren't exactly the hand me downs our moms or grandmoms pass on to us voluntarily. They're the kinds that I took out of the closets because I felt how sad they have been for being unnoticed by their respective owners for years. That's how good a researcher I am, I see things that are in the deepest recesses of the piles of clothes. Or maybe I'm just trying to reason out the fact that I took them without my mom and my lala knowing. Harhar!

Out of a Fairy Tale Book

It felt like stepping into a gigantic fairytale book and realizing that something was off-key. That something unfitting was puncturing the entire concept. And what, or better yet who, was the eye sore at that moment? Silly little me! Instead of filling in the shoe Cinderella left, I stepped in as the spectator. Oh wait, in which fairy tale did the spectator appear? Exactly. It was never even a character.

It was supposed to be an ordinary day, which meant we were to go somewhere we've frequented. But then, we chanced upon this jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, tear-jerking place. It's one of those places where when you passed by it, you knew you simply had to walk back and admire it some more. I've never been here before, unlike my parents who apparently have seen it and made it one of the options from the numerous venues I could have picked from had I chosen to have a debut. I almost regretted not having thrown a party in here. Almost. But then I'd think of the wonderful time I had on the cruise and my regrets would fly away with the hot air balloon - displays. Save for one big regret. Which is, I didn't wear something that is more fitting of a fairy tale. If only I knew we'd go here... Oh well, maybe on our next visit. After all, it's just 30 or so minutes away from our house.

The obligatory bathroom shot I usually take whenever I'm in a well-maintained washroom of any places I go to. The idea of putting a highly embellished huge mirror inside the washroom cum lounge area is appealing so much to me. Hmm.

Queen of Hassle

If I were to have a theme song dedicated for my very organized life, pun intended, it would be Do the Hassle. Yes, I'm changing the lyrics from Do the Hustle to Do the Hassle. I don't know but for some reason, I always end up in a very tangled situation wherein I couldn't put the blame on anyone but me. I'd like to believe what others say though. That the crammed activities are usually the ones that turned out to be the best. My final exams were held at the first week of September. I woke up around 8am last 4th September to finish my selling project, which entailed for me to drive from one place to another just to meet with the suppliers and at the same time squeeze in some time to buy gifts for my beloved cousin Rayne. On top of these, I had to find even an extra hour to study for my two exams for that day. At around 3 15PM, I met with the last supplier I had to conduct business with to reach my quota. Right after, I ran to my school to be on time for my 3 30PM exam. I made it right on the dot. The following day, I had to wake up early once more cause I was to take two exams again. After my philosophy test which ended at 12 30PM, I hurried to Vikings Buffet for the 4th birthday celebration of Rayne. She turned 4 already, yay!!! Seeing how happy she was with the gifts I bought her more than made up for all the tiredness buying them caused me. A few hours from the lunch, I was dropped off in school to take my last exam for the term. Phew, those two days were very very very exhausting and I was both physically and mentally tired. But the funny thing is, I liked it. Challenges like these make me feel buzzed and attentive to details. Bring on the time-budgeting hurdles, I'm ready for them! :)

This was what I wore for the 5th September event. I had to go to and from school that day that's why I intentionally left the heels at home. I don't like feet pain to add to my worries. I was kind of handling a lot of troubles as it was, I don't need added tension.

My huge tote bag from Nine West had given up on me and I had to find a replacement for it already. I wanted a new tote bag, needed a new tote bag. I'm highly disorganized so what I need is a bag where I could just dump in all of my things. But when I saw this, I had to reconsider. It's too tiny, it fits me well!
