Time to Man Up

"From this day onwards, I'm going to choose who I want to remain in my life".

Thank you for making me realize new things and for accompanying me as I enjoyed my cup of Pistachio ice cream earlier this morning. You know who you are :)

It's high time that I weigh all my options. It's time to man up.

On a totally different note, my friend Janica Barrera has just set up her blog too. Visit it here :)

Some kind of brother

Just this weekend, my younger brother Gio who's on his third year in High School asked me to accompany him in looking for a tux. I thought it was for nothing special, just a product of his developing love for fancy clothes. You see, he's much more brand conscious than I am! The difference when shopping between the two of us though (which surprises me too) is that, he can pay for more than half of his purchases as compared to me, who shed hard-worked money only when my beautiful eyes - effect doesn't work on any of my parents. I need to know his secret on how he budgets his allowance. Enough of revealing my usual state of bankruptcy. As I was saying, we found the perfect tux that he's looking for in Onesimus. I didn't give him any advice on which to pick nor did I object on his choices. The moment he laid his eyes on these polo-tux, cuff links, and the coat itself, he didn't bother looking at another anymore. I wish I could be as decisive as him when it comes to buying. So here's the reason for the immediate tux-hunting: Gio is going to attend his prom. In fact, his prom has already been held last Saturday. So what do you think, do we have the same taste in clothes or what? :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Since I'm in the process of trying to do improvements in this blog, I decided to set up a page containing the questions frequently asked of me. This way, I would be able to answer all your questions and correct all the prejudices.
4. Do you dress well for school?

Sadly, I don't. But I believe I have two valid reasons.

a) I commute when I go home in the afternoon. If my dismissal is earlier than 6PM, my parents won't have me fetched from school.

b) I need to walk fast because the location of my rooms is buildings away from each other. Anything fancy is nothing but a hindrance.
Here are what I wore last week:

Simple and Easy.
Confession time: I did not wear these footwear in school. Hahaha.

Where to eat: S.O.U.L Cafe

I used to tell all those who asked about my dream in life that I'm going to be a chef. I wanted to prepare dishes that don't only taste good but also look so yummy. Perhaps my family's love for trying out new cuisines has influenced me. The interest is there but the skill is lacking. I don't know how to cook any dishes, even just fry an egg. I'm going to get a ZERO if my cooking skills will be graded. Now how on earth will I ever be a cook right? Hahahaha

Last saturday, because of the maddening boredom that has struck me, I whipped some Mayonnaise, Parsley, Pickles, Salt and Pepper together with the yellow part of boiled eggs in a container and as soon as I've gotten the consistency that I was aiming for, I filled them in the hollow parts of the boiled eggs.

Presenting, my very own version of Egg Floats

No one had bubbles in their mouths even after eating lots of my egg floats so I guess, they are pretty much edible.
And oh, if you're traveling to the North and you want to eat in somewhere cozy and home-y, I recommend you try S.O.U.L Cafe located in Camp One, Rosario. It's near Shell Gas Station and the entry to Kennon Road. Their Alamid Coffee is worth trying. Forgive me for sounding like an advertisement. It's just that, eating here has always been part of the entire itinerary whenever we head for places in the North.

Like a Gypsy

Like what I've just said in my last entry, I was so inspired to try the boho look. The inspiration this time came from the sea.

I would like  to introduce to you my 4-month old Dachshund whom I called Miu Miu. She's named after the fashion genius Miuccia Prada. Miu Miu was so behaved during the long trip, not once did she pee in the car. I also found out that she loves the beach! Whenever the waves came near us, she would run into them.

I've got Sunshine

I woke up feeling so gay and happy! It was as if I wasn't tired from the long travel and was as if I wasn't lacking of sleep. The moment I opened my eyes, I felt so energized and so ready to run, kick and jump. I have been thinking of trying the boho look for weeks but haven't tried doing so because of lack of inspiration. I need inspirations when I dress up, may that be from music, colors, patterns or practically anything at all. I found what I needed in Ilocos. It seemed to be a good place to try the trend. So for this look, I want to call it the modern boho.

Sudden Loss

11PM last Friday, 10 February 2011, my High School batchmates and I were shocked with what happened to one of us. Our friend Rishei Bartolome has finally joined our Lord Jesus in heaven. She had been diagnosed of Brain Cancer and had been going in and out of the hospital for a year. Earlier this afternoon, after my LEAP class, I hurried in going to Sanctuarium, where her internment is being held.

She was one of the kindest and most diligent girls in our batch. May she rest in peace eternally.

Take a Leap

Today, instead of having our normal classes, we all attended special ones. I got enrolled in Blogging to Fame, thanks to my friends Hannah, Tin and Lina. I brought my camera with me cause I wanted to take pictures of the guest speakers but when their actual talks started, I totally forgot about taking pictures and listened carefully to them instead. Nina Fuentes of justwandering.org talked about travel blogging, Dhon Jason de Belen of runway2reality.com spoke of fashion blogging and Raleene Cabrera of raleene.com gushed about lifestyle blogging. They were so inspiring that I decided to finally assign a name to my blog. Cue drum roll. "Of Great and the Greatest". I would need a banner. Can you please help me? :D

On another note, I am inviting everyone of you to De La Salle University's University Week Celebration. We have bazaars set up in Yuchengco Building. Everyone is invited to look around. So if you guys have time this friday, please do drop by. See you there!
