My Subconscious Answered Her

Photobucket
From my previous post, I narrated that in my interview, I blurted out outrageous answers. When I was on my way to school then, all that I was thinking was that, I'm supposed to answer the interviewer's questions at once. One question, one immediate answer. The more casual and candid, the better. One of her questions was, 'Gellie, what do you want to become someday? Why move to Marketing at all?'. I didn't think, I answered almost automatically, "A fashion editor". Now where did that thought come from? Prior to this day, my dreams in life have been shifting from one choice to another so rapidly that I didn't bother remembering my latest choices. So I wonder, did my subconscious decide what path I should take? Was that my subconscious telling me that my inner self is really asking me to be in an industry filled with people who have the same interests as I do? I certainly hope so. Blurting out my dream to be a fashion editor seemed to have solidified my resolve in finding out which job really suits me. I'm wishing that whatever's keeping me on hold at the moment will not so abruptly change just because of my fickle-mindedness. It's free to dream, so dream big I just did :)

I don't know how to play any musical instrument but I've always always wanted to  learn how to play a piano. Earlier this afternoon, my lola purchased one and allowed me to play whatever that I can. Good thing, I know how to read notes. It surprised me and those who were listening to me cause I was able to play various pieces. My favorite was "Memory" from Cats. Can't wait to show you guys a video of me in my first ever attempt at playing this wonderful musical instrument. There's still so much for me to learn and I can't wait to get started

I was browsing the net last week when I came across this article which has both my icons Joanna Hillman and Marykate Steinmiller. I'm always impressed with their outfit choices. The rocker chic Taylor Tomasi is not so bad too. Read the article here. But who's my favorite fashion editor, you might ask? The very fierce, very elegant, very edgy Christine Centenera of Harper's Bazaar Australia.

If I could be anyone for a day, I would definitely want to be her! (Or Patricia Field!!!!!)

Art is Everywhere

I had to go to our National Museum for a paper in my Humaart subject awhile ago, in the midst of sudden rain and sudden sunshine. Weather in Manila is so unpredictable.

Although this sweatshirt (from Mango) is big on me, it's actually one of my favorite things from my wardrobe.

Thanks, Kinah for  accompanying me in going to the National Museum. You are the sweetest :>

We had to cross a very bus street and being someone who don't know how to cross the street on her own, or doesn't even have the guts to do so, I searched for some ways to be able to reach the other end without risking my life. Out of nowhere, poof!, there I found this wonderful calesa. Presto! I was able to cross the street and I was able to ride what I've longed dream of riding on.

After appreciating all the paintings in the museum, I met with Karen and Miguelito (his real name is Migz, by the way) for some afternoon delight. We met up in Tazzina, a favorite of ours but we left upon seeing some familiar faces. Hahaha!

New Beginnings

Decided to keep everything minimal and just added blue
Went to school awhile ago even though I actually didn't have classes just to watch a presentation in Advertising.

It's official. By next term, I would already be a Marketing major. I received the good news when I went to the office of the Vice Dean yesterday afternoon.

Behind me is a collection of men's perfume. My favorite scent is Bvlgari for men, it's the sweetest men scent ever!
In getting admitted to the Marketing Department, the student must qualify through taking an exam and getting interviewed. On both occasions, I wasn't really confident in passing. I finished the exam 20 minutes before the time. Blame it on my laziness and perhaps the want to end the 2-hour exam fast that I did't review my answers anymore only for me to realize during the submission of the papers that I actually missed 5 numbers somewhere in the middle. The exam type was multiple choice so there was no way that I could find out which numbers I've skipped. I really thought I wouldn't get pass throughh the first procedure. When I did, I thought the interview to follow would sail smoothly since I did't have to answer anything handwritten. Talking, thank God, seems to be easy to me. The interview was scheduled around 3pm, I arrived at exactly 3:02 pm. My answers to the professor's seemingly tricky questions were so out of this world and very very outrageous. My friends who were watching me as the interview was progressing commented that I looked as if I was contradicting whatever the interviewer said. When she wrapped up the questioning, I felt like I wanted to withdraw a lot of breath. So you could just imagine how much I wanted to scream at the top of my voice when the Vice Dean's secretary said that I passed both tests. I'm beyond grateful.

After a year of pain and hardships in the Accountancy Department, I'm now moving to a department which hopefully is the real deal for me. Thank you, friends, for believing in me and never losing faith.

Boys Will Be Boys

My younger brother Gio is in his 4th year HS and has just returned from his 3-day retreat. Families were asked to fetch them from school and join in a mini get together. Then I got to think, hey I was in an exclusive school too. (Gio's in DBTC while I was from St. Paul) How come the boys have a salubong for their boys while we, the girls, didn't have one. What's up with that. Boys have a more detailed retreat now? Hahaha.

Seeing my brother with his classmates made me reminisce my High School retreat. I started setting up this blog when I was in 4th year but I never got to share with you how my retreat went. So here goes...

Though I've to admit that 4th year didn't turn out as much fun as 3rd year, it became somewhat bearable because of these people :)
Our 3 - day retreat was held in St. Paul's retreat house in Baguio.

Believe me, it was so cold there! During one morning, the heaters didn't work so we had to endure the cold water at 5 am in Baguio.

Sticks and Stones are Never Gonna Shake ME

Here's what I wore for our presentation in Marketing last monday. And yes, I've worn this gown before already.

Allow me to take this chance to clarify some of my points, on why I'm blogging, for whom I'm blogging and what I'm blogging about. Seems like time and again, there will always be someone or somethree who'll never tire of letting you know that they hate what you're doing. I never claimed to be a fashion blogger because of the obvious reason that my posts nor my fashion choices are not as creative as other professional bloggers like Andy of Style Scrapbook or my favorite Joanna Ladrido of Only the Marvelous. I don't blog about outfits or my sometimes right and more of the time weird choices in dressing alone. I blog about what I do, where I went, what I wore for that certain event and who I spend my time with. I'm blogging about my life. As I've said plenty of times before, I'm not here to please everyone for I know that's not possible. I'm here to share a part of me with everyone who bothers to know, including my family, friends and fellow bloggers who have inspired me in some ways. If after knowing this and you still can't find it in yourself to stomach reading or seeing any of the pictures here, then keep in mind that no one's stopping you from clicking on the X button. Just leave this site and never come back. That way, you won't have anything to cause your headaches anymore. But if you really want to tell me how much you hate what I'm doing, then let me know. I'm willing to open an account in FormSpring wherein you can tell me, up to your heart's content, whatever you need to tell me. I assure you, I'm going to answer all of your comments, if that's what you want. I never wanted to be rude to anyone but I feel like you have to know that your effort in telling me remarks isn't wasted. I read each and everyone of them. I haven't answered any yet but if you're waiting for it, then I'll gladly give you what you want. OH! Thank you, for being here in my blog. At least you were able to increase my page views ;)

Should I have unintentionally offended anyone with these words, I'm sorry.
