Happy Birthday.. Cha Cha Cha!

My first post for this year is dedicated to... ME!!! No, it's not brought about by my self-absorbed tendencies  this time but by the plain and simple fact that today is my birthday. I could imagine my baby cousin Elija singing his birthday song. "Happy Birthday to you. Cha cha cha! Happy birthday to you. Cha cha cha!". I think, contrary to what others say, my birthday falls on an opportune date, even if majority of us have already spent all the holiday pecuniary gifts we've received. Because it coincides with the beginning of the year, providing me a reason, or rather a wake up call, to act more maturely than how I did the previous year. If last year's was all about celebration after celebration after celebration after celebration, this year's birthday celebration is all about modesty and surprises. Come what may :)

What better way to celebrate my birthday and at the same time welcome 2013 than be in this beautiful gown from Edressy. My vision kind of zeroes in on the clothes that do not overwhelm my miniature frame. And by this, I mean clothes that have the the-longer-you-stare-at-it-the-more-beautiful-it-gets allure. They're lovely at first sight but when you look at them more intently, that's when you'll unravel its inner charm. (Naks! Kunwari may eye for detail! Hahaha) I seldom wear accessories and when I do, it's not a guarantee that I'll look more well-put with them on than when they're not on. I'm scared with accessorizing as I have not yet learned its language. This is why I let what I wear speak for itself. The gown I chose from Edressy instantly grabbed my attention as it gives a nod to a lot of things that I favor: first, it's minimal in design. It's simple yet so striking; second, I've always wanted to wear a ball gown; third, it provides the perfect canvas for whatever mood I have. I can wear it over and over again. Mater of fact, I'm going to wear it once more this year. Allow me to try to surprise you ;) If you're looking for gorgeous gowns without having to spend a lot, then you're in luck for there's the online fairy godmother who delivers gowns on time: Edressy.com

I wore my gold metallic belt from H&M instead of using the ribbon for that extra edge that I was gunning for. Added my gold watch and my heart-shaped earrings, pulled up my hair in a loose small bun and I was contented with the look. Here are my other choices from the store:

Thanks to Edressy.com for the beautiful gown!!!
Sorry for the grainy pictures. I was in a hurry that I've forgotten my camera so I had to use the iPhone.

Peace, Guys! I'm a Beginner

When I started this blog in 2009, all I wanted was to have an outlet of my random musings and ramblings. I wanted to make an extension of my diary in the internet where I will be in control and where it can serve as a venue for my "creative" slash weird outputs. It was all for me, myself and the very selfish I. What changed the it's-all-about-me perspective was when I first heard a friend comment on how she was entertained by my posts, no matter how self-centered they were. She said she liked reading them and that she was waiting for my future posts. I have always felt awkward when a compliment is thrown my way. It's something I never get used to. Let me quote myself from one of my published postsPersonally, it feels soooooooooo good to hear your friends comment that they love what you did, where you went, what you wore on a specific day. Let me reiterate on that, it feels very humbling and self-fulfilling. That's when I started to include thoughts about my friends who eventually became a big factor on why I painstakingly continued this online diary until now. Just when I'm about to not care about this anymore, I'd bump into someone whom I haven't seen for a long time and the very first thing s/he would tell me is that, my page is one of the websites she frequent the most. Kilig to the bones na naman! Instantly, my battery recharges. Come to think of it, when I haven't updated for a long time then suddenly I publish a new post, it's because I have actually bumped into a friend, High School and college alike. In middle of last year, I received the first mail regarding Of Great and the Greatest. I could've grabbed the opportunity presented by that email but since I am a coward who is hiding behind this domain, I replied with a short and simple note which primarily turned down the job. I wasn't being prima donna or pa-hard to get. I was just dubious of my capabilities as a *ehem ehem* blogger. I didn't know whether I could comply with their requirements nor could I generate a heavy traffic in their site. I thought I was being honest and realistic. It was only later when I realized I was just being the coward that I am. I was afraid I wasn't good enough for them. I was afraid that I couldn't do justice with their image. Another proposition came last december. I have to talk about their slowly emerging advertising company. Same rules from them as before, same response from me as well. I, yet again, took the coward's way out. Then sometime last month, I received another email. It was from Sugarlips Apparel. This time around, I told myself that if the company and I could find some way to compromise with each other, I'd gladly do it. Sugarlips didn't just compromise with me, they even believed in what I believe in. So how can I not say yes to them? Besides, their clothing apparels were really really really cute and lovely! They were so nice that I would've begged for them to consider my situation in case they didn't offer me to do this.

Thank you so much to everyone behind Sugarlips for sending me this blue romper which if I may add is very very versatile. I can already imagine how I'd wear it the next time!

It was a rainy day when we shoot these photos but since our photographer Sam Pingol is a man of patience, he waited for the sun to come to take these wonderful photos. We drove to Serendra in the morning and wrapped up everything by 1PM.

Karen Soledad. She's our driver for the day and I credit the title of this post to her. "Peace, guys! I'm a beginner" - you'd see this sign behind her car soon. As proof that she's only starting to drive, she almost rammed the car where we're riding in to a brand new BMW as we were looking for a parking. That was such a close call and everyone in the car were totally shocked!

Thank you very much, Sugarlips! :)
It was because of this project that I've decided it's time for me to man up and be responsible for everything that comes along with maintaining this blog. No more walls. No more reservations. I'm all about positivity and productivity now.

The Price League

Have no fear, you have in your midst the strongest, the friendliest, the mightiest, the cutest, and the weirdest super heroes that are here to save the day for you against the big-head blue villain whose call in life is to wreak havoc in the entire universe. I present to you, the Price League!!! Ten-ten-tenen... The president of Marketville handpicked the best superheroes from different worlds to prevent a chaos so big that it could blow the world up. He chose Storm, Wonder Woman, Cyclops, and the Fairy Godmother to stop the deviant plans of Megamind. Take a glimpse on the colorful lives of our characters:

The story went something like this. Megamind stole the button that can blow the world up. To stop him from his evil plans, the president formed a task force comprising of the world's best superheroes. They tried to identify what caused their villain's dark character. So they dug up his past. As a child, Megamind had been deprived of the one thing he craved for the most - love. His parents were so busy with their work that they've slowly shut him out. It was in this sad time that he met the creature of his dreams, so to speak. He met Avatar, the girl from the outer space. They had some good times together but eventually, Avatar left him. He was so devastated that he channeled all his energy to carry out his destructive plan. Then entered the super heroes...

Oh my! This was the last time I wore bottom above knees. Come to think of it, this was the day my dad told me he'd never let me go to school wearing shorts. Conservative siya eh Hahahaha

Sorry for the amateur video. What would you expect, it was shot and edited by the same persons who starred in it. Plus, they only had two straight days to shoot. Besides I shared them just to let you see how gutsy we were. Imagine shooting in school under the scrutinizing gazes of other students. Wala nang hiya hiya. Para sa grades to :)

Thank you so much to Rafael "Megamind" Ocampo for sending me the pics and videos. Seeing what we guys worked so hard for some 9 months ago definitely made my day :)

We will never be never be anything but loud

Friends, I have to tell you this: I am honored to say that I was the earliest to arrive in our meeting place. After waiting patiently for around 25 minutes, Lina arrived. And for the first time ever, the two of us did the waiting. Hannah, usually the early bird, was late.

See what my footwear was? It was my first time to wear flats outside school. I'm starting to embrace my God-given height (or the lack thereof).

I had lunch with my two college sisters at Manila Peninsula. When I was ordering my desired meal to the waiter, with all the confidence that I could muster, I read out the French food to him and asked afterwards if I pronounced it correctly to which he said, "You're right, madam". So I cheekily replied with a "Won't you give me any complimentary drinks for pronouncing the French food correctly?". Come on, it's not easy reading French! I swear one day, I'm going to learn that language. It sounds so sexy and romantic. Hihihi

Since Manila Pen is near Greenbelt, we walked going there instead of riding a car.

The actress of the sisterhood, Lina
Sometime last year, in one of our subjects, our group was divided into the dancers and the singers. Hannah and I were grouped already, while Lina was still having a hard time thinking of where she should go. Without any hint and foreshadowing, she just raised her hand and asked if instead of singing or dancing, could she just act. What a question! She was more willing to act.
Photobucket
If I could just tell you what Hannah is to our group, I bet you'd prefer covering your eyes and ears. HAHAHA. (Just kidding, Hans). She makes sure that there's never a dull moment whenever we three are together. She always has new stories and new punch lines which can make Lina and I either amused or grossed out. Hahahaha

You might think you know us but I assure you, you don't know the half of it :)

We spent the entire day shooting for one of the scenes in our project in Marketing. Location: SM Mall of Asia. Whoever said we don't have the guts to strut our stuff in public places is in for a big surprise.
