Jampacked

I didn't plan any activities for last saturday but I ended up doing a lot! Eversince I graduated from High School, I never got the chance to go to Gateway again and in the process forgetting that it houses one of the best movie houses in the Metro. The very first cinemas to have LA-Z boy seats, refreshments, first class lounge, and valet service, anyone? I greatly wanted to watch Bourne Legacy because it shot its intense action scene and the ending in my very own country. I wanted to see the Philippines from the point of view of Hollywood. When I had the chance to watch it in Gateway Platinum, why wouldn't I grab it right?

After a hot chocolate from Coffee Bean and a green tea frappe from Starbucks, we then proceeded to Araneta Center for the Tears for Fears concert. The band's songs may not be my thing but seeing them perform made a believer out of me. 80s songs rock!


By then, my heels got to go cause my feet are starting to hurt so much.

My brothers were craving for some sushis and tempura so it was another Yakimix night. Oh I love Japanese food! I won't ever feel guilty about devouring platters and platters of it, even if it exceeds the usual amount I allow myself. Right after dinner, we all headed to Star City because for the nth time, my Kuya couldn't resist not bringing my 3-year old cousin somewhere her eyes would brighten up some more. I wanted to say I wore floral because of some inspiration but since I wanted to keep things as real as they can be here, I'd confess that I wore floral combination because I didn't have anything else to wear. The key of my closet was missing so I had to make do with whatever was available in the hamper. The combination didn't come out so bad, or did it? :)

Although not everything has been restored to how they're used to be or even just recovered a little, at least it's better than the bad situation we're all in for almost two weeks. Where Comfort Outweighs All Else

There are still unresolved issues swirling in my head. On top of which is the idea of entering DLSU's exchange student program. I've always expressed my dream of studying abroad, either to take my master's or to get a second course. I've never tired of learning, in fact I'm in constant search of new things that can shake my brain. But if ever I would undergo another stage of a student's life, I like to experience it where I can be on my own for the first time. I've lived a very sheltered-life, one which my friends can attest to. I'm a homebody, I rarely go to places without my family. Some said when it comes to the "real world", I am totally inept with what it takes to survive. But I retort, what does it really take to survive? If the basis is the knowledge of domesticated activities, then perhaps I am lacking of the tools. But I think those are very basic and innate in every woman. Leave me a broom and I'm sure that even though I'm not a genius in any way, I'll be able to use it properly. Ergo there's more to life than knowing physical job. The missing link is education. I don't mean to discriminate in any way but I believe that an educated person can be easily identified from someone whose knowledge was gotten from the streets. There's a huge difference between what a quality education teaches and a so-so, if not none at all, education.

I made Rayne rain-ready

I wore this very comfortable combination of sweater and pants because I spent an entire rainy afternoon with my cousin. It's her first periodical exam in her Pre-school center and I didn't want her to take the exams without ensuring that she's prepared. Tutor lang ang peg. Kids would always be kids. Usually the best way to teach them is by bribing them in the form of reward gifts. Correct answers would result to things that she likes to get. Good thing Rayne is as particular with what she wears as I am. It was easy bribing her. Haha!

In line with this let's it's-raining-hard-so-I'll-wear-this post, let me also take this time to ask everyone who'll come across this to please pray for the Philippines. We've been experiencing heavy downpour that there is flooding almost everywhere. A lot of both public and private properties have been destroyed already. Some has lost their houses, others their lives. Please spare a single minute of your time to utter prayers for everyone whose lives have been greatly affected by the excessive rainfall.

Peace, Guys! I'm a Beginner

When I started this blog in 2009, all I wanted was to have an outlet of my random musings and ramblings. I wanted to make an extension of my diary in the internet where I will be in control and where it can serve as a venue for my "creative" slash weird outputs. It was all for me, myself and the very selfish I. What changed the it's-all-about-me perspective was when I first heard a friend comment on how she was entertained by my posts, no matter how self-centered they were. She said she liked reading them and that she was waiting for my future posts. I have always felt awkward when a compliment is thrown my way. It's something I never get used to. Let me quote myself from one of my published posts: Personally, it feels soooooooooo good to hear your friends comment that they love what you did, where you went, what you wore on a specific day. Let me reiterate on that, it feels very humbling and self-fulfilling. That's when I started to include thoughts about my friends who eventually became a big factor on why I painstakingly continued this online diary until now. Just when I'm about to not care about this anymore, I'd bump into someone whom I haven't seen for a long time and the very first thing s/he would tell me is that, my page is one of the websites she frequent the most. Kilig to the bones na naman! Instantly, my battery recharges. Come to think of it, when I haven't updated for a long time then suddenly I publish a new post, it's because I have actually bumped into a friend, High School and college alike. In middle of last year, I received the first mail regarding Of Great and the Greatest. I could've grabbed the opportunity presented by that email but since I am a coward who is hiding behind this domain, I replied with a short and simple note which primarily turned down the job. I wasn't being prima donna or pa-hard to get. I was just dubious of my capabilities as a *ehem ehem* blogger. I didn't know whether I could comply with their requirements nor could I generate a heavy traffic in their site. I thought I was being honest and realistic. It was only later when I realized I was just being the coward that I am. I was afraid I wasn't good enough for them. I was afraid that I couldn't do justice with their image. Another proposition came last december. I have to talk about their slowly emerging advertising company. Same rules from them as before, same response from me as well. I, yet again, took the coward's way out. Then sometime last month, I received another email. It was from Sugarlips Apparel. This time around, I told myself that if the company and I could find some way to compromise with each other, I'd gladly do it. Sugarlips didn't just compromise with me, they even believed in what I believe in. So how can I not say yes to them? Besides, their clothing apparels were really really really cute and lovely! They were so nice that I would've begged for them to consider my situation in case they didn't offer me to do this. 

Thank you so much to everyone behind Sugarlips for sending me this blue romper which if I may add is very very versatile. I can already imagine how I'd wear it the next time!

It was a rainy day when we shoot these photos but since our photographer Sam Pingol is a man of patience, he waited for the sun to come to take these wonderful photos. We drove to Serendra in the morning and wrapped up everything by 1PM. 

Karen Soledad. She's our driver for the day and I credit the title of this post to her. "Peace, guys! I'm a beginner" - you'd see this sign behind her car soon. As proof that she's only starting to drive, she almost rammed the car where we're riding in to a brand new BMW as we were looking for a parking. That was such a close call and everyone in the car were totally shocked!
