It's Spa Day

My baby brother had his birthday last 9 October. Being the youngest, of course it's almost impossible not to celebrate it. Mom whisked all of us including some relatives and some household help to Nurture Spa Village in Tagaytay (Click HERE for their website) for a relaxing birthday party. Allow me to divide our activities into 3 separate posts. Mark this as the first.

Capped off my evening with a sweet facial, literally. They used pure honey as the base. Yummy!

Late for Class, Early for Lunch

I think I know what's going to be on top of my Christmas wishlist - a Lumix or a Canon Ixus 115 or any other digicam for that matter. There's nothing more that I could wish for than to have my daily activities documented but my current camera's preventing me from doing it. I love my SLR but for day by day purposes, it's not wise to bring it. It's too heavy and it occupies almost the entire space in my bag. So much for my rambling...

Anne celebrated her 20th birthday in, where else but, Dolce Latte. It was so sweet of her to invite me and Lina. From school, we went straight to their restaurant.

I came down to two options: whether to wear heels or my topsider. In the end, I had to ditch the heels because I'm restraining myself from wearing them to school.

I simply had to take this cake home with me. Chocolate indulgence (read: calories, calories, and a few more calories)

Around 4pm, I had to leave with Lina already because I was supposed to meet my friend Verlyn Guiyab while Lina was to be fetched from my place. Eat and run athletes if you may. Hahaha!

Belated happy birthday, Anne! :)

Trust me, I'm not totally indifferent. Most of the time, I look back.

I'm Waiting for You, Legolas

My doctors have released my medical certificate and have allowed me to attend my classes in school already. They held me prisoner in my own home for good two days. Haha! So since I'm okay already, the first place that I wanted to visit was the mall, particularly the movie house. With my mom, brother Gio, Lola Ester and Tito Ian, I was in Shang yesterday.

I still have nasty looking bruises all over my right arm and a few parts of my legs so I guess I'll be wearing long sleeved tops for the entire week.

I'm half way to finishing Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. I wonder, how come I've only seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy on cable TV once? It feels as if I'm waiting forever for them to be shown again.

One Week Of Rest

Oh my! I have a lot of catching up to do. A lot. Seriously. But first things first. For some reason, I didn't want to go around telling everyone that I was confined in the hospital and was only given permission to leave earlier this afternoon because I found it so tedious. My doctor said I needed rest so I cut my social connection during the week. I appreciated all the effort, love, and concern that came pouring in and the supposed visits but like what I said, I had to rest. Besides, I'm sure you wouldn't have liked my appearance. Perhaps because of the dextrose, my cheeks got so bloated, my eyes were so puffy, and my arms were red all over. I wasn't such a sight to behold. Haha! 8 bottles of dextrose and daily blood extraction later, I'm up and kicking again.

I Get Sick Once A Year, Only Once

As I am writing this down, I'm wearing a cool fever on my forehead, and my kuya, who's just a few feet away from me, is also wearing one. When I woke up this day, I wasn't feeling well already but because I've a class every Saturday, I willed myself to get up and ready for school. In the middle of my class, my fever probably went a temperature higher, making my eyes sting so bad. I knew I will end up collapsing in the room if I stayed a little longer so I had to leave. I wasn't even able to text anyone at home to fetch me because all I was thinking was to go home at the soonest possible time. I asked the guard to hail a cab for me. The other students who were looking for cabs were gracious enough to allow me to go first.

Oh, thanks for taking my photos for today, Lina :)

The Balance of Nature

One principle I greatly believe in is that, everything is fair in this world. That when you're good here, you can't be that good in another department. That when you get something akin to perfect now, after a few days, karma's going to fuck you up. See, you can't have it all. Always, you'll have something that will make you less perfect and more human. And always, you'll meet some people who are better than you; just the same, you'll meet a person or two who'll think that you epitomize the person whom they wish they can be. I think this is how everything is supposed to be. Fair and square.

I was in school last 12 September when Ms. Universe 2011 took place. But thank God for the internet connection (read: wifi) in all our buildings in school, we got the result as soon as it was out. I felt really proud of the country's representative, in fact I am one of the proud kababayans of Ms. Philippines. More than being Ms. Universe 2011 3rd runner up, I'm more at awe with her academic accomplishments. She didn't just pass the board exam in Architecture, she nailed it! She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines, topped the Architecture board exam, and bagged 4th place in Ms. Universe.

What ever happened to the balance of nature?
