The Champ

A wise man once said, "Love whatever feeds you". The day before the Pacquiao-Bradley fight, I was with my dad the entire day helping him, or rather slowing his work down, do last minute touches in some malls where the live streaming of the fight would be shown. My dad has been contracted to provide signal in more than 60 malls all over Luzon. Pacquiao fights are one of his numerous projects so the more Pacquiao fight there is, the better it is for my dad. Haha! In my first time to assist him, he brought me to the control room of the cinemas in SM Canlubang. If only I was allowed to take pictures of the room, it'll be easier to describe how awesome things work up there. A piece of advice my friends, never do anything 'unusual' or 'inappropriate' when watching movies. Trust me, everything you do, absolutely everything, is seen from above. I was up there in the control room. I saw how the movies are translated to the huge screen. When I got bored from getting amazed by the technology, I sneaked into the holes to see the movie on the big screen and observe at what the viewers were doing. It was quite funny seeing everything from a bird's eyeview. Let me say this again, don't do anything stupid in the cinemas else you'll just provide free show for whoever is manning the control room ;)

Another perk of my dad's work is that, we had free installation of the fight in our house. Imagine seeing huge satellite in your backyard, that's how it was for me. 'twas really cool. The only thing uncool about the Champ's recent fight was, he lost. For some unexplainable and unacceptable reason, he lost. He frigging lost!

The dish outside our house was about 4 feet. Imagine my surprise and our neighbors' shock. Haha!

Months before the fight, dad wanted to show his support to the Champ by buying his limited edition Manny Pacquiao Nike shoes. Syempre todo suporta na. Win or lose, we're in Team Pacquiao!!! Go knock your opponent out the next time, Pacman!

Travel Philippines: Monasterio de Tarlac

One Step Closer to Brazil

Have you seen the movie Rio? If you haven't I suggest you watch it. I dream of someday going to the land where everyone is beautiful, while singing Taio Cruz' "Telling The World", wearing something like Blu's costume. All set for the Rio de Janeiro carnival!

Photobucket
But if you can't go to the land of the Beautiful People just yet, then drive up to Montasterio de Tarlac. The rough road going up the mountain is definitely worth everything that you'll see once you reach the place.

Broooooom! Did I just hear your Ferrari speeding away?

As I was going home last 30 May 2012, something zoomed beside the cab I was riding in - a red Ferrari convertible with plate number GEL 111. Just kidding! It zoomed too fast along Osmena Highway that I was only able to focus my view on its logo. What a sweet piece of car! It made me want to include: "Attend Singapore's Formula1 Race" (the nearest Formula1 race to Manila) in my bucket list. Oh Ferrari, why are you so beautifullllll.

"I write emotional algebra." - Anais Nin

"The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say"

“I am lonely, yet not everybody will do. I don't know why, some people fill the gaps and others emphasize my loneliness. In reality those who satisfy me are those who simply allow me to live with my ''idea of them.”

“There were always in me, two women at least, one woman desperate and bewildered, who felt she was drowning and another who would leap into a scene, as upon a stage, conceal her true emotions because they were weaknesses, helplessness, despair, and present to the world only a smile, an eagerness, curiosity, enthusiasm, interest.”

"Don't say anything, because I see that you understand me, and I am afraid of your understanding. I have such a fear of finding another like myself, and such a desire to find one! I am so utterly lonely, but I also have such a fear that my isolation be broken through, and I no longer be the head and ruler of my universe. I am in great terror of your understanding by which you penetrate into my world; and then I stand revealed and I have to share my kingdom with you"

"Everything with me is either worship and passion or pity and understanding. I hate rarely, though when I hate, I hate murderously."

"I don’t really want to become normal, average, standard. I want merely to gain in strength, in the courage to live out my life more fully, enjoy more, experience more. I want to develop even more original and more unconventional traits"

“I am only responsible for my own heart, you offered yours up for the smashing my darling. Only a fool would give out such a vital organ”

“She lacks confidence, she craves admiration insatiably. She lives on the reflections of herself in the eyes of others. She does not care to be herself.”

What more proof do we all need to convince ourselves that keeping a diary can go a long way? There's Anne Frank then there's Anais Nin. Maybe I'm aware of this eversince a lot of emotions and events in my life started to bother me. Why else would I have patiently maintained a diary for 8 straight years? :)

20 Years And Counting

Last 16 May 2012, we all went out to celebrate my parents' 20th wedding anniversary. What better way is there to celebrate than to satisfy my family's love for food. For that night, it was Tajimaya for us.

Mom: Where did you get your blouse and necklace? I haven't seen them in your closet before.
Gellie: Remember the money you gave me last week to have my hard drive fixed?
 Mom: Yeah. What about it?
 Gellie: I bought these instead.
Mom: hay naku! Good thing you're my only daughter.
Dad looks on with a smile.

Who wouldn't fall in love with a place where the lake is just outside your house? I didn't have any idea on how the resort look like before going there so I'm quite surprised with how compatible my packed Sunday outfit and the entire place turned out to be. How I wish I can have my weekly outfit shots taken here. Hihi.
