Last Summer Blast

My mom celebrated her birthday yesterday in Clark, Pampanga. I'll post a few photos that I was able to save one of these days. For now, I'm going to diligently conclude my summer posts. Well, at least they're just in time before the rainy season in the country starts! Here are photos from my 10-day Holy Week vacation.

Travel Philippines: Sand Dunes, Paoay, Ilocos Norte

Swimming in Sand

That has been the busiest 25 days of my summer! I've literally just got back home and now before I start my meeting-up with friends campaign, I'm going to publish photos taken during the Holy Week. It's weeks late, I'm aware, but never forget that my blog's motto is the undying "better late than never". The first batch is all about the sand dunes in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

At 5:30 am, just before the sun completely showed up, we were already in the Sand Dunes, which is highly recommendable to anyone who wants to experience this as well. The sun can be very unforgiving especially when the ground it's shining high above on is made of sand.

I wasn't expecting the 4x4 ride to be as daredevil of a ride as it had been. I expected it to be a little rough and perhaps a little scary due to the truck's huge wheels but I wasn't prepared to face its ferocity. It's been wild! I wanted to just sit down and strap myself in a seat belt but I couldn't because there's no where to sit on and there's no way I could find anything to strap myself in. More than the sand boarding, I believe the whole sand dunes experience is all about the ride on the 4x4 trucks.

We went down when we passed by the shore. And then of course came the sand boarding.

I'm not a morning person. But I would sacrifice my morning sleep anytime for the adventures on the sand dunes of Paoay. At least now I have new photos to replace my memories of the place. The first time I went here, I barely remember anything save for that instance where I ran after my cousins while in my red Mickey Mouse pyjamas. Although I haven't outgrown running after my cousins, at least I've bidden good bye to those PJs. That's considered a passage of maturing for me, at least. Haha!

I'm Chasing the Sun

Just one more week and I'll be done and over with my finals for the term. Just one more week and it'll officially be summer for me :)

A few weeks ago, I attended a seminar for a certain activity that I would have loved to do this summer. I've psyched myself into thinking that I'd be somewhere far and fun. Up to some extent, I've even imagined how I will go about my daily rituals in that far away place. I was willing to sacrifice my other pre-planned activities for that one ultimate trip. I was excited, to say the least. And then the bad news broke out. What I've been looking forward to suddenly vanished into thin air. All of a sudden, the odds turned against me. I can't anymore go because I failed to meet the requirements my mom and the activity have entailed. Was I saddened? Definitely. Was I sullen? Immensely so. Did I brood over it? For a few days, yes. But after, I snapped back. Getting past the disappointments is probably one of my weak points. I can't easily accept things that don't go my way. Especially if I've employed all means just to get it. I'm not exactly the 'sore loser' type but if the battle is not against someone like in a competition, rather it's against things that are faceless, that can't fight back in the strict sense of the word, that are unchangeable, that's another story. Acceptance takes time but once I've fully understood why things happen, I move on and never look back at it with the same bitter taste that I've once had. That's life.

This is what I wore last Easter Sunday when the family decided to eat some organic Swiss food in Antipolo. I'm going to post the other pictures next, IF I'll be able to convince myself to type another story. Hihihi

Pause For a While

It's my school project but I think, it's worth sharing here.
Have a meaningful Holy Week, friends! :)

I'll be spending mine in the province. By the time I'm back, I promise I'll have everything in my comments box sorted. But do know that I've read all of them already and I am beyond pleased at all the kind words. Please bear with my immediate hiatus for the mean time. Thank you.

BEACH PLEASE!

As I'm writing this down, I'm trying to ignore the pain coming from my left abdomen. I went to see my doctor earlier, contemplating on what to wish for: whether to have some serious internal complication or to wish that the uncomfortable feeling within me is just because of some common sickness like ulcer. Although I doubt that I have the latter, considering that I have a healthy diet and I eat on time. I'll be going back to the hospital tomorrow; hopefully, I would know what brings about the painful stabbing. So anyway, there's this one other thing that's bothering me. April's almost over and I still haven't been to the beach!!! Bummer.
