Key of Jed

Last saturday night, my parents, brothers, lola, tito and I were in CCP. We watched the probably best singer of his generation. In the 2 hours that the concert lasted, not once did his voice fail to mesmerize and amaze his wonder-struck audience. His guest performers were pretty awesome too: Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid, to name a few. His musical director for the night, Ryan Cayabyab, was too good for words as well.

I am so amazed and moved with his outer worldly voice that I told Mom that I'll join her again in watching Jed's future concerts in Manila, no matter how pricey it could be.

Jed Madela is truly beyond expectations.

The Emotional Punching Bag

My college emotional punching bag celebrated her 18th birthday in Vikings restaurant. First, let me clear the reasons behind her title. You know those days when everything seems to be going the opposite direction of what you've been wishing for and all you want to do is scream in frustration? Or those days when you've prepared so much for your speech or quiz to be affronted with the "quiz won't push through until next week". Or those days when you simply don't have anything to do so to while your time away, you start picking on someone. Mind you, not once did I use the word 'bully' to describe it. Cause it's really not bullying. It's more of showing your love and appreciation of her presence in a less cheesy way. Get the picture?

When my class ended at 1pm, I met up with Lina in Glorietta where we killed the our time by checking out the new books and new stuff in the racks of some stores we love, and also by watching a certain movie, for the second time. Yup, we loved it! Have I mentioned that she and I were also on time for the dinner celebration? Our being on time, which is rare I tell you, is our birthday gift to the celebrant. Hihi

But of course before we achieved her look in the previous photo, we had to do some last minute retouch. Thanks to hand dryers for being instant hair lowers. Haha!

Movie Bonding

The world wide phenomenon Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 has reached the shores of Manila. Last Sunday, my mom assigned me to get movie passes for 7 persons. I didn't know how I will be able to do that so the fast thinker that I am, I thought of the best person whom I can rely on - Lina. She lives near Resort's World that's why I knew that she can easily get me the tickets. (thank you very much, Lins! I owe you yet again)

The movie was great! I'm a fan of the book and I can say that the movie lived up to the book. I can't wait for the second installment.

Another constant presence here is my Lola Ester. She and I are planning a great Christmas adventure. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it will push through ;)

P.S. Thanks, Janica Barrera, for this blazer. It was so sweet of you to give it to me willingly :>

Comfort is slowly becoming a piece to my puzzle

One saturday afternoon, everyone in the household decided to go on a road trip. We just wanted to go to different places all over the Metro to just see what's happening around. We ended up scouring the booths in World Trade Center Manila where a fair is currently set up. I don't have my camera with me that time so unfortunately, I don't have photos from the bazaar to share here.

When It Rains...

As I was readying for school, it was raining. Thinking that it would rain the entire day, like what happened the day before, I slipped on my trusty rubber boots. I wanted to have a reason to wear them to school that's why as soon as the first rain drop poured, I decided that it was the right time already. When I stepped out of the house though, the sun started to shine. Fail.

The "Forever" Friend

All of us have that special friend whom, no matter what, we can't say no to. For me, that friend is Vary Jonson. I may have not shown myself to others as frequent as they would have wanted but with her, I'm always just a phone call away. I don't know how she does it but more often than not, things would work out such that I'll be able to leave everything behind just to spend some hours with her. And as I've repeated constantly, she has always always made me laugh, since first year HS. And counting... So when she told me that she's throwing a birthday party, I knew right there and then that come high and come low, I will be there. I had a class that day, leaving me with no time to change and prep up that's why I wore something that could make me look appropriate both in school and for the evening event.

I've been a good girl this year :)

It's the time of the year again when I've put up the things that I think will complete my Christmas.
MY CHRISTMAS WISHLIST 2011
Photobucket

1. Zara white blazer
2. Darker and lighter denim shirts from Mango and Levi's
3. Any oversized gray sweater
4. Zara A-line black and blown leather skirts
5. The only pair of heels that has made it to my list - Zara black pointed toed court shoes. I've been drooling over them for a good three months now!
6. Topshop oversized knit sweaters. I feel so bad letting these beauties just pass by me. I've been seeing them on the racks of the Topshop stores I went to but when I finally wanted to buy them, they're gone.
7. Topshop wedges with tassels - I've noticed that I don't have decent wedges. I'm going to start collecting now.
8. Topshop arish gold wedges - Oh gold, perfect for Christmas!
9. Red and black floppy hats from Zara - getting ready for summer
10. Jeffrey Campbell shoes dipper
11. Lumix LX5 - I've been sharing my thoughts on digicams in some of my previous posts. I need one!
12. Asos laser cut petal maxi skirt - reminds me so much of origami. Very creative.
13. lots and lots of A-line skirts, preferably panel, long flared and brocade - these Zara skirts create the illusion of longer legs
14. Topshop Wedges - so simple yet so striking. And they can be worn with almost everything!
15. Charlotte Olympia wedges
16. Topshop wedges - I'm still in love with orange
17. Mango Helecho Wedges
18. Sergio Rossi Madeleine Peep Toe wedges
19. Gold Sweater - LOVE!!!

On to the books!!!

Photobucket

1. Parisian Chic by Ines dela Fressange - I've been eyeing this for 4 months already. Who doesn't want a guideline straight from the boss right?
2. Seriously... I'm Kidding by Ellen Degeneres - something funny to keep me laughing the entire holiday season (Holiday season, for me, starts from Christmas up to my birthday which is on the 8th of January)
3. Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins - Because of my good friend Hannah's excessive promotion of this book, I now want to read them all so badly, preferably before they begin showing in the theaters
4.  Irreverent by Carine Roitfeld
5. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein - Nothing beats a children's book, complete with illustration and heart warming messages
6. The Gospel According to Coco Chanel by Karen Karbo - Because like every other girl, I'm very much impressed with Coco.
7. Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation by Kristin Knox - I'm thirsty for more of his one of a kind ideas!
8. The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg - So that I won't miss the movie adaptation too much, I want to have it in book too.
9. The boy who came back from heaven by Kevin & Alex Malarkey - truly inspirational!
10. Percy Jackson & The Olympians series by Rick Riordan - my 10 year old cousin Vince hates reading, until he met this series.
11. You Are Not So Smart by David McRaney - something to redirect my thoughts of myself. HAHAHA. Seriously, I think this is going to be a good one.
12. What Would Audrey Do? by Pamela Keogh - As what it's subtitle says, this book recounts why Audrey Hepburn still matters
13. Bossypants by Tina Fey

So if you think I've been a good girl, thank you. Although sending over concrete gifts to show me that you really think that I wasn't so naughty this year is a brilliant idea too ;)

All White and Prissy

One afternoon, I came across an article in the internet which made me laugh and feel mushy at the same time. I wish I've saved it and shared it here or even just noted the website where I got it. Anyhoo. It went something like this...

Guy: Of course before I court a girl, I need an assurance that she'll accept me. As you may know, there are some girls who are pretty intimidating
Girl: I disagree. Guys should make the first move because it doesn't feel good to be called aggressive.
Guy: It's not being aggressive. It's just going for what you want. Guys have feelings too, you know. So we need the assurance.
Girl: So you mean guys are afraid to reveal their feelings because they're scared of rejection?
Guy: Well, there can only be two reasons: either they're still in the getting to know you stage or the guy's not yet sure with what he's feeling.
Girl: So. In which category do you belong?

Then I died. Hahaha! When I storied this to Lina, she just laughed with me. From there, we diverted to another topic: Korean dramas. All thanks to her and to some other friends, I got introduced to the very funny yet so endearing world of the Korean drama. So anyway. Last wednesday, I only had one class. It lasted for only an hour and a half. Instead of staying in school for some quick talks with my classmates, I hurriedly picked up my bag and headed for home. Why? So that I could get on with my newfound obsession. Haha!
